Training Days with Claire Lilley

If you would like a training day at your yard, here are some different options;

Dressage:

Each training day is tailored to the participating riders and horses. You can learn more about schooling your horse in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, whatever level of training you are at. Basic problems are common to all riders, and tackling these once and for all can really help you train your horse at home.

By attending a whole day's training, you get plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and riding at least twice in one day can consolidate your training much better than just having a one-off lesson. Exercises for the rider can be included! A day can be themed as follows;

Dressage to Music:

Using music in your training can help improve the quality of your work and help you understand the importance of RHYTHM. Receive help with planning a routine to music for competitions; how to choose suitable music and how to fit movements together. Learn how to ride in a quadrille, perfecting basic school movements to create simple routines to music.

Show Jumping

The whole idea of a whole day's training is to for each rider to establish a balanced,safe jumping position, learn exercises to teach your horse to jump, or improve his jumping technique. You do not have to leave the ground if you do not want to! Pole work will be used most of the day.  After lunch, you will all take part in building and walking a course, learning how to design a simple jumps, and what obstacles to use. Thos of you that want to will ride what you have built (it can be as small as you like!) and learn how to ride a course of jumps. You do not have to be an experienced show jumper at all. The exercises apply whether you are worried about jumping, or want to school a less experienced horse without the stress of having to go to a show.
